Skills & Safety Training
Hands-on workshops in safe extraction, mineral identification, basic geology and equipment handling for artisanal and small-scale miners across mining communities.
Nigerian Youth in Mining is a youth-led non-profit organisation connecting young people to skills, mentorship and real opportunity across the solid minerals value chain — from exploration to processing to responsible community mining.
Founded by young geologists, engineers, community organisers and entrepreneurs, Nigerian Youth in Mining exists to make sure the country's mineral wealth creates real livelihoods for the generation that will inherit it.
We bridge the gap between policy, industry and the grassroots — training artisanal miners in safer practice, mentoring students into formal careers, and giving young professionals a credible seat at the table in national conversations about the solid minerals sector.
We are non-profit, non-partisan and entirely youth-led. Every programme we run is designed, delivered and evaluated by young people.
From the classroom to the pit to the boardroom — we create pathways into every part of the mining value chain.

Young miners, students and community leaders on what NIYIM has meant for them.
Before NIYIM I was mining without any safety knowledge at all. The training changed how I work and how I think about the land. I now lead a small cooperative of eight young miners in my community.
The mentorship programme connected me to a geologist who has guided my final year project and my first internship. I never imagined a career in mining was this open to young people.
NIYIM brought young voices into our community dialogue about mining on our land. For the first time, the youth were not just spectators — we were part of the decision.
Whether you are a young miner, a student, a community organiser or a partner organisation — there is a place for you here. Reach out and let's build the future of Nigerian mining together.
Fill in the form and a member of our youth coordination team will get back to you within two working days.
